Four games in, four wins, and none of them have gone the distance. That defines the dominance of the early season for the Hillcrest Academy Raven baseball team as they cruised to 4-0 Thursday by walloping the Wapello Indians, 14-0 in five frames on the road. The Ravens got to work early at the plate, scoring five in the first, three more in the second, once in the fourth and five times in the fifth. As hot as the sticks were for Hillcrest, that’s how tough sophomore starter Seth Ours was on the mound. He allowed only three hits and struck out eight while shutting out the Wapello offense. Rowan Miller had a monster night at the plate, going three for three with a pair of doubles and five driven in while scoring twice. Grant Bender knocked in a pair on three hits, one of those a triple. Jace Rempel also had two driven in. Liam Schrock belted a solo homer. Hillcrest is 4-0, outscoring their opponents 66-5 in total this year, ahead of a date with Winfield-Mt. Union tonight.
