Louisa County Conservation is kicking off the summer with their Langwood Adventure Day. Families and children of all ages are invited to the free event with endless opportunities for outdoor fun.

Naturalist for Louisa County Conservation, Lana Artz-McComb, describes some of the activities available to anyone who attends. “Participants will have the chance to go fishing with the help of the wildlife biologist for the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. They will be able to try paddling, both canoeing and kayaking with the help of some of our lovely paddling team. We will have two archery ranges set up. We will also have a range with BB guns staffed by some of our hunter education instructors. It’s a great first chance for everything. If you’ve never had a chance to try one of those activities, Langwood Adventure Day is the perfect way to do it.”

Other activities include hiking, critter catching in the pond, and the high ropes course will be open for anyone 8 years of age or older. There will be raffle prizes every thirty minutes, and pre-packaged snacks, however guests are asked to bring their own water bottles as well.

Langwood Adventure Day runs from 8 a.m. to noon tomorrow at the Langwood Education Center. Pre-registration is encouraged by today to expedite the check-in process. Anyone interested in attending can register online at louisacountyconservation.org, call 319-523-8381, or email Lana at lmccomb@louisacountyia.gov.
