Today is Family Day for the Washington Summer Classic; there are lots of activities to take part in. Join downtown businesses for Ridiculous Sidewalk sales to find great deals all day long. The Washington Steele Family Aquatic Center is also hosting a free swim from 1 to 5 pm. Other activities include pony rides, a bounce house, and many family activities in Central Park. KCII News spoke with Washington Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Michelle Redlinger to learn about some of the activities, “Our safety vehicles will be down to do touch a truck so, different vehicles and the kids can put their hand in an inkpad and actually stamp their hands all over these emergency safety vehicles, and kind of see inside of that.” Participate in activities with the cast of The Wizard of Oz to earn your Heart, Brain, and Courage. There will also be family games with the cast of Oz at the bandstand. Along with We are the Dinosaurs live music with Joe Nichols will take the stage, Wes the Best Balloon Guy & Magician David Casas will be putting on performances. Then to end the evening Movies on Main will show Moana on the square.
