The Lone Tree Lions took a split of Southeast Iowa Super Conference battles on the diamond Thursday night. Lone Tree softball cruised to a 10-0 victory over the Pekin Panthers in six innings, scoring two times in the opening frame and three times in the second. The Lions moved to 1-2 in the Super Conference North and 2-3 overall.

Lone Tree baseball responded from a 3-0 deficit through the first four innings at Pekin by briefly taking the lead in the top of the fifth. Pekin went back in front 5-4 heading into the sixth, but the Lions scored three times. After the Panthers were able to knot the game at seven, Lone Tree got the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh and final inning. But Pekin ultimately walked off in the bottom half for a 10-8 victory, dropping the Lions to 1-2 in both conference play and overall.
