Pastels, oils, charcoal, paint, and more will meet canvas in Washington this weekend. The annual En Plein Aire Washington art contest is being held Friday through Sunday. Artists from across the state will compete with Nocturnes on Friday, followed by putting up easels around the community and painting and interpreting the City of Washington. KCII spoke with Art Domestique Board Member Mike Canas about the event, “I think anyone that’s interested in the visual arts, it would be a very interesting experience to either participate in or just observe.” The artists will finalize their work Sunday morning. At 1 pm Sunday, the artwork will be turned in at Art Domestique for judging. The community is invited to join the artists at the gallery from 1:30-5 p.m. Sunday to view the work, see the awards presentation, and potentially go home with a piece of original artwork.
