A Lone Tree Man was arrested on Monday and charged with sexual abuse following an incident that occurred in February.

Twenty-three-year-old Aaron Slaughter faces one count of sexual abuse in the third degree, a class C felony. According to a criminal complaint, Slaughter met a woman through mutual friends at an Iowa City bar on February 25. Bar surveillance shows the two exiting together, although the woman told investigators she has no recollection of leaving.

The woman remembers waking up in Slaughter’s truck while he sexually abused her. When asked to stop, Slaughter refused. He later dropped her off at a residence, however those who lived there did not know the woman or Slaughter. Residents told officers that the woman appeared almost unconscious, she had blood on her, and that her clothes were disheveled. According to the criminal complaint, blood and other DNA found on Slaughter matched the woman’s DNA.

Slaughter made his first appearance in court Tuesday, and was later released after posting a $10,000 bond. A no-contact order has been filed on behalf of the victim. KCII will have more information as it becomes official.
