Anyone enjoying the sights at Oakland Mills Park in Henry County will likely cross paths with one of three murals completed this year by Mount Pleasant artist, Annie Guldberg. Over the last month and a half, Guldberg has made her mark at the park’s basketball court, dam, and pump house.

While all three murals range in size and shape, each adds an explosion of colors and beautiful nature scenes. The largest project of the three, being the pump house, took over 40 hours of paint time, spanning several days.

Although Guldberg is a professional artist who works with several different mediums, Oakland Mills was her first experience with outdoor murals. She expressed to KCII her gratitude for the opportunity. “Thank you to Caleb Waters at the Henry County Conservation Department because this is his vision. I think I first got in touch with him before the pandemic, and that’s how long it took to kind of get it off the ground. I just want to thank them for giving me the chance to try it as a new mural artist and for letting me be a part of their vision of beautifying the park.”

Guldberg also teaches classes to young artists. To view her work or get into contact, visit oilpainterannie.com or find her on Facebook and Instagram at “Oil Painter Annie”.
