At approximately 4:02 pm Friday, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of multiple calls of an erratic driver crossing the center lane and almost causing multiple collisions on 220th St coming into Washington on North 12th Avenue. The deputy noted the vehicle did travel above 70 MPH in a posted 35 MPH and did not stop at stop signs while speeding in the Washington Downtown Square with pedestrians present. Eventually, the vehicle crashed into a dumpster and lost a tire causing it to become disabled. Darien Patterson, 33, of West Chester, was arrested on charges of eluding with an OWI, a Class D felony, operating while under the influence 3rd offense, a Class D felony, and driving while license denied or revoked, a serious misdemeanor. Patterson bonded out of the Washington County Jail.
