The Sigourney Savages cruised to another victory on the softball diamond Tuesday, defeating Pleasantville 11-0 in six innings. Sigourney scored four runs in the first inning and three in the second and never looked back.

Savage junior infielder Erin Dawson led the lineup with three hits, including a double, and three runs batted in. Junior pitcher Carly Goodwin also came up with three hits and scored two runs, while sophomore catcher Josephine Moore blasted a home run and a double on her way to four RBI.

Senior Rain Barthelman, sophomore Ava Fisch and freshman Kenzi VanDenHeuvel all had two hits and two runs scored each, while Goodwin gave up just two hits and racked up 16 strikeouts in pitching a complete game for Sigourney. The Savages improved to 12-2.

Sigourney baseball was not as fortunate against Pleasantville, not scoring until the sixth inning in a 5-1 loss. Sophomore catcher Caden Clarahan scored that only run and had a team-high three hits, including a double, but the Savages still fell to 10-5.
