The Washington County Board of Supervisors approved an Information Technology survey of Washington County’s IT by the Iowa Counties Information Technology group. Supervisor Jack Seward Jr. explains what this means, and why it is important, “I would just like to say for the record, that we have discussed the IT situation in the county for several years, so this is a step looking into the future. And I also have been involved with Washington County Ambulance Service, and their IT issues. So a good survey of them and the rest of the county, I think would all serve us well so that we’re on a strong footing to know exactly where we are at. Information technology is becoming more and more important knowing exactly where we’re at and having some idea of where we are going to go. I think, is the best way to do it.” The survey is expected to be completed in late August, and will cost the County $3000.
