Winfield-Mount Union was felled by Wapello in a pair of conference battles on the diamond Tuesday night. WMU baseball fell behind 6-0 after a half-inning of play, but the Wolves responded to cut that Wapello lead to a single run going into the fourth.

When the Indians got four runs on the board, Winfield-Mount Union scored twice in the fourth and added three more runs in the seventh, but the final rally fell just short for a 11-10 loss, dropping the Wolves to 4-5 in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North and 4-8 overall.

WMU softball was on the wrong side of an eight-run first inning as Wapello went on to win 13-0. Winfield-Mount Union fell to 3-7 in conference play while also moving to 4-8 in total.
