The Columbus Wildcats cruised to another impressive softball victory Thursday, defeating the Winfield-Mount Union Wolves 15-0 in three innings. Columbus scored seven runs in the opening frame and never looked back, while sophomore Wildcat pitcher Lily Coil allowed Winfield-Mount Union to get one total base runner when Wolves freshman Quin Smith singled.

Coil also led the Columbus lineup with three hits, including two doubles, three runs batted in and two runs scored. Senior Jocelyn Fulton and freshman Lizzie Gerot had two hits and one RBI each and combined to score four runs, while seniors Sara Vela and Victoria Howell also each scored twice to help Columbus improve to 6-3 in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North and 8-5 overall. WMU fell to 3-9 in conference play and 4-10 overall.
