The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk baseball team made sure their annual trip to the College World Series involved some business Saturday, pounding Treynor 16-3 in five innings. Mid-Prairie scored in every inning, with two in the first, four in each of the second and third frames and three in each of the fourth and fifth innings. Mid-Prairie outhit the Cardinals 14-4. Karson Grout had an enormous day, going four for five with six RBI, a triple and two runs scored. Cain Brown scored five times and drove in two. Alex Bean added a pair of RBI. Gentry Bontrager was the winning pitcher, working three innings, giving up two hits  and striking out three. The win moves the Hawks to 15-6 on the year, ahead of a River Valley Conference doubleheader in Wellman Monday against West Liberty.
