It’s an all-KCII area showdown tonight in Winfield when the Wolves entertain Hillcrest Academy for Senior Night Tuesday. Hillcrest baseball is 15-3 overall and 10-0 in the Southeast Iowa Superconference North, after a 6-0 loss to No. 8 in Class 1A Burlington Notre Dame Monday at Duane Banks Field in Iowa City. This year, the Ravens are hitting .341 collectively with 181 runs on 158 hits. Luke Schrock leads the way with a .519 average and 28 hits. He and Jace Rempel have driven in a team high 22 and Liam Schrock has scored a team best 31 times. On the mound, Hillcrest has a 1.88 ERA in 104 innings with a .207 opponent average on 80 hits, 28 earned runs 36 walks and 106 strikeouts. Luke Schrock, Rowan Miller, Grant Bender, Jace Rempel and Seth Ours are a combined 10-0 with an ERA under 0.50.

WMU is 4-9 overall and 4-6 in the north after a 2-1 loss to Highland Friday. The Wolves hit .282 as a group with 57 runs on 94 hits. Kohlby Newsom is at .457 with 11 runs scored, both team best numbers. Riley Kaalberg has a team leading 19 hits and nine driven in. The Wolves team ERA is 5.29 in 80 innings with a .197 opponent average on 81 hits, 61 earned runs, 62 walks and 88 strikeouts. Andrew Brown is 2-3 with a 4.39 ERA. Hillcrest has won 10 straight in the series including a 4-2 victory earlier this month.

The Raven softball team is 6-13 this year, 3-8 in conference play after a 9-0 loss to Holy Trinity Catholic Monday at Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids. Hillcrest is hitting .296 as a club with 101 runs on 113 hits. Delaney Shaw has a .465 average with 20 hits, Malia Yoder has scored 21 times and Lydia Beachy has 18 RBI, all team leading numbers. In the circle, Hillcrest has a team ERA of 9.52 in 90 innings with a .233 opponent average on 137 hits, 122 earned runs, 112 walks and 91 strikeouts. Yoder has a 6-10 record and 7.12 ERA.

Winfield-Mt. Union is 4-12 this year, 3-10 in the Superconference after dropping a 15-3 decision to Mediapolis Monday. The Lady Wolves are hitting .256 together with 105 runs on 97 hits. Anna Anderson is at .568 with 21 total hits, Keely Malone has 20 RBI and Josie Nelson 21 runs, all team highs. The Wolves have a 3.15 team ERA in 67 innings with a .300 opponent average, 30 earned runs, 107 walks and 29 strikeouts. Smith is 4-8 in the circle with a 2.42 ERA. The Wolves have won eight of the last nine in the series, but it was Hillcrest scoring a 16-12 victory over WMU earlier this season.

It is Senior Night for the Wolves and the softball team will honor Keely Malone and Anna Anderson. Baseball seniors include Grant Watson, Preston Prior and Andrew Brown.
