The Washington County Board of Supervisors agreed on a proposal for the Washington East Urban Renewal Plan for the City of Washington. Washington City Administrator Deanna McCusker was there to give more details. “There is an Economic Development Project that will be happening hopefully later this year. And so as part of that project, the city is assisting with the economic development of that project, and so as part of the process to be able to TIF the area, to offer the incentives to this developer, we need to add that area into our Urban Renewal Plan.” This East Commercial Urban Renewal Area is on the East side of Washington, and will be the future location of a hotel, if all the planning is accomplished.
