The Hillcrest Academy Raven baseball and softball teams are back on the road for a matinee Wednesday against Central Lee in a Southeast Iowa Superconference crossover doubleheader. The Hillcrest baseball team is 16-3 this year, a perfect 11-0 in the North Division of the Superconference after an 11-1 win at Winfield Tuesday. This year, Hillcrest is hitting .346 as a team with 192 runs on 169 hits. Luke Schrock is the team leader with a .509 average and 29 hits. Luke and Liam Schrock are tied for the team lead with 31 runs scored and Jace Rempel has driven in a team best 24. The Hillcrest team ERA is 1.80 in 109 innings with a .208 opponent average on 84 hits, 28 earned runs, 38 walks and 109 Ks. Luke Schrock, Rowan Miller, Grant Bender, Jace Rempel and Seth Ours are a combined 11-0 with an ERA near 0.40.

Central Lee is 10-6 this year, 5-4 in the South Division of the Superconference. They were a 4-3 winner over Washington at home last night. This year, the Hawks are hitting .302 collectively with 123 runs on 131 hits. Kayden Ames is at .486 to lead the way. He and Blake Davis each have a team best 18 hits. Bo Herdich has driven in 23 runs and Corbin Pohren has scored 18 times. The Central Lee staff has a 4.87 ERA in 105 innings with a .237 opponent average on 109 hits, 73 earned runs, 83 walks and 138 Ks. Hunter Edlin, Cory Jones, Gannon Wells and Davis are a combined 5-0 with an ERA just south of five. Central Lee has won six in a row against the Ravens including a 12-10 victory in 2022.

The Raven softball team is 7-13 on the year, 4-8 in the Superconference North after rolling Winfield-Mt. Union on the road Tuesday 15-2. Hillcrest is hitting .296 as a club with 101 runs on 113 hits. Delaney Shaw has a .465 average with 20 hits, Malia Yoder has scored 21 times and Lydia Beachy has 18 RBI, all team leading numbers. In the circle, Hillcrest has a team ERA of 9.52 in 90 innings with a .233 opponent average on 137 hits, 122 earned runs, 112 walks and 91 strikeouts. Yoder has a 6-10 record and 7.12 ERA.

Central Lee is 15-7 this year, a perfect 9-0 in the Superconference South, but were beaten 14-4 in six innings Tuesday by Washington. The Hawks are hitting .378 as a team with 204 runs on 233 hits. Shanna Buford has a team leading 40 hits and 33RBI with a .556 average. Kenna Sandoval has scored a team best 39 times. In the circle the Hawk staff has a 3.49 group ERA with a .237 opponent average, 140 hits, 62 earned runs, 63 walks and 63 strikeouts. Everlee Harvey is 11-2 with a 2.64ERA. The Hawks have won five straight in the series including a 13-1 victory a season ago. Action in both games gets underway this afternoon at 1p.m. in Donnellson.
