The Washington City Council voted to award the bid for the Kewash Trail crack filling and sealing project. Council Person Bethany Glinsman gave some insight. “It’s nice that it came under budget and we want to protect the $100,000 we spent resurfacing it so I think it makes a lot of sense.”The City is responsible for the asphalt portion from D Ave to Hwy 1 and Sunset Park and lower Sesqua Park under the railroad trestle to the main trail. It was completely resurfaced in 2018 for $100,000. There is 15,000 budgeted for repairs in 2024. The Council approved the bid from Asphalt Repair Service out of North Liberty, with a bid of $11,810.
