The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk softball team scored a measure of revenge on River Valley Conference rival West Liberty. After dropping a doubleheader to the No. 15 in Class 3A Comets in Kalona earlier in the week, the Hawks went on the road and shut out West Liberty 5-0 Thursday. Mid-Prairie scored twice in the first, and once each in the second, fifth, and sixth innings. That was more than enough offense for starter Sydney Knebel, who finished the complete game shut out, holding the high powered Comets to just three total hits, and only allowed a runner to reach second base once all night. On offense, Mid-Prairie finished with eight hits. Sophie Miller drove in a pair of runs on two hits and scored twice. Dakota Mitchell scored once on two hits. Hannah Sellers and Knebel each had one RBI and one hit each. Miller scored twice, Madeline Schrader and Molly Yoder each scored once. The win moved Mid-Prairie to 12-13 on the season and 9-6 in the RVC.
