The Highland Huskies fell in a pair of baseball games Saturday, including pushing the host North Linn in a 4-0 contest. Despite the Lynx, ranked fifth in Class 1A, getting a run in the opening inning, North Linn only added single tallies in the third, fourth and sixth frames. Highland getting just a double from senior Ethan Paisley and a base hit from senior Tyler Thompson ultimately did the Huskies in.

In the first game of the doubleheader, Highland fell behind Northeast 2-o after one inning but tied things up in the third. The Rebels rose to the occasion, though, scoring three runs in each of the next two innings and going on to win 15-8.

Thompson led the Husky lineup with three hits, including two doubles, and four runs batted in. Paisley and fellow senior Peyton Yeggy had two hits and a run scored each, while eighth-grade catcher Garrett Beeson came up with a pair of hits and two RBI. Nevertheless, Highland dropped to 10-13. The Huskies will return to action tomorrow night against Sigourney.
