The Keota Eagle baseball team won a 2-0 pitcher’s duel with English Valleys last night. Keota broke through for both of the game’s only tallies in the third inning, while senior pitcher Aidan Anderson dominated on the mound, giving up just two hits and three walks in a complete-game shutout.
Anderson also drove in both of the Eagles’ runs and finished with two hits. Keota wraps up the regular season with a 6-8 record in the South Iowa Cedar League and a 9-11 mark overall.
The Eagles fell in softball 17-0 in three innings against English Valleys, remaining winless this season. Both teams begin the postseason for Keota this weekend. Softball faces Moravia in the Class 1A Region 8 playoffs Friday, while the Eagles take on Pekin in the first round of the 1A District 10 tournament, which you can hear Saturday evening starting at 5 o’clock on 102.5 FM and AM 1380 KCII.
