The Washington County Board of Health voted unanimously at their most recent board meeting to deactivate the Covid-19 mitigation requirements for the county’s home health staff. Previously, public health employees were required to be fully vaccinated or submit a valid religious or medical exemption. No matter what their vaccination status was, all staff had to certify in writing that they had not experienced more than one flu-like symptom every week. Further mitigation and protective face masks were also part of this policy. The policy was required by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and failure to follow them would have resulted in a citation. The requirements and policy have recently been removed by Federal Officials nationwide.
