The Louisa County Sheriff’s Office announced a new addition to its fleet last week. The Sheriff’s Office presented a Rescue-Search Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV), thanks in part to a grant from the Washington County Riverboat Foundation.

WCRF awarded $10,000 to the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office as part of their 2023 Spring Grants. The grant, along with money from the Louisa County Reserve Deputies Fund went towards the purchase of a 2023 Polaris Ranger 1000EPS vehicle.

The UTV will be used to assist on a variety of calls in Louisa County, such as search and rescue efforts. It will also be equipped with first aid kits, an automated external defibrillator (AED), and other emergency equipment.

The Sheriff’s Office expressed their gratitude to the Washington County Riverboat Foundation, who is the non-profit license holder for the Riverside Casino & Golf Resort. In their spring cycle, WCRF gave out a total of 25 grants, totaling $1,630,255.
