Last week, the City of Wellman released its 2022 Water Quality Report for Wellman Municipal Waterworks. No violations were found in the water supply.

According to the report, the Wellman water source, which is groundwater, contained no traces of lead or combined radium. Traces of copper, chlorine, fluoride, and nitrates were at or below the highest level allowed in drinking water. Water contaminants are often produced by corrosion of household plumbing systems, erosion of natural deposits, fertilizer runoff, or other various factors.

Drinking water, including bottled water, may reasonably be expected to contain at least small amounts of some contaminants, however their presence does not necessarily indicate that water poses a health risk.
