Residents of Winfield are advised that crews are continuing to flush fire hydrants during the month of July.
The City began flushing its hydrants yesterday, with plans to continue at various dates throughout the month. Hydrant flushing helps ensure water quality and helps avoid random bouts of rusty water if a high demand is needed, such as a major firefighting effort or water main break.
During these times, Winfield residents may experience lower water pressure and/or water discoloration. They are reminded however, that the water is still safe for use. With any questions, contact City Hall at 319-257-6661.
