Kalona and the campus of Hillcrest Academy is the setting for tonight’s Class 1A District 10 Championship game between the Hillcrest Academy Ravens and the Iowa City Regina Regals. The Ravens are 20-4 this year after an exciting 4-3 win in extra innings over Keota to get through the District semifinals Wednesday. They were undefeated champions of the North Division of the Southeast Iowa Superconference. This season, Hillcrest is hitting .343 as a group with 237 runs on 210 hits. Luke Schrock leads the way with a .493 average with 39 runs scored and 35 hits. Grant Bender has a team best 38 RBI. On the mound, the Raven ERA is 1.81 with a .198 opponent average on 101 hits, 36 earned runs, 44 walks and 135 strikeouts. Schrock, Rowan Miller, Seth Ours and Phoenix Anderson are 16-2 with a 1.47 ERA.

Iowa City Regina is 15-18 this year, they were 11-7, fourth place in the River Valley Conference. The Regals rallied past Sigourney 3-2 in the semifinals Wednesday. This season they are hitting .269 as a team with 192 runs on 233 hits. Individual leader is Danny Gavin at .413 with 43 hits, 33 runs and 30 driven in. On the mound, the Regals ERA is 3.10 with a .226 opponent average on 196 hits, 95 earned runs, 140 walks and 214 strikeouts. Connor Nicpon and Will Litton have each won four games with a 2.30 combined ERA. These two teams haven’t met since an 8-5 Raven win in 2009.
