The Washington County Board of Supervisors approved seven Disabled Veteran Homestead Tax credits at their Tuesday meeting. Christina Loeffler with the Washington County Assessor’s Office explains with Supervisor Jack Seward Jr. giving some more information, “This year we only had seven applications, and all of them did meet the qualifications, so I recommend all seven of them be allowed.” “I would just like to comment, due to a law of privacy, we are not allowed to give those names in public. We have seven names on the list and with the recommendation of the assessor to approve them, and that’s what we are doing.” To qualify for the tax credit, the home must have been owned by July 1st of each claimed year. Exemptions are filed with the county or city tax assessor.
