The Washington Demons put together another strong campaign in boys’ soccer this spring, and there were plenty of accolades that came their way as a result. Along with one all-state player and two academic all-state selections, the Demons had six players earn all-conference honors and seven get academic all-conference accolades in the Southeast Conference.

That includes a heaping helping of honors for junior forward Manny Raymundo. Washington’s leading goal-scorer was an honorable mention all-state selection in Class 3A and also earned honorable mention academic all-state honors. Raymundo was named the Offensive Player of the Year for the Demons after leading the team with 19 goals and 11 assists.

Junior Lane Schrock joins Raymundo with all-league and academic honors in the Southeast Conference and was the other choice from the Demons for academic all-state, making the first team in 3A.

Juniors Angel Mata, Isaac Gentry and Brayan Arreola all made both the all-conference and academic all-conference teams, while junior defender Randy Huertero also makes all-conference in the SEC and juniors Jamie Esquivel and Andrew Starr were named academic all-conference. Washington put together a third straight winning season by going 9-6 this spring.
