Twenty-two 4-H’ers and seven Clover Kids participated in the Washington County Clothing Event on Sunday, July 9th, at the Washington County Extension Office. 4-H members have the option of four categories to participate in the $20 Challenge, Clothing Selection, Fashion Revue, and Innovative Design. In the Senior $20 Challenge division, Ava Greiner of the 76 Progressives and Grace Conway of the Limecreek Limelights were chosen to represent Washington County at the Iowa State Fair Awardrobe Event. Taylor Garman was selected as the State Fair alternate. In the Senior Clothing Selection division, Grace Conger of the 76 Progressives, Adyson Gerot of the Highlanders, and Ava Greiner were selected for the Iowa State Fair Awardrobe event, and Haley Gross was selected as the State Fair alternate. The State Fair Awardrobe Clothing Event will be held on Thursday, August 10th.  A full list of event winners for each class can be found with this news story at KCIIradio.com. Also new in 2023, a Results Runway show was held to model outfits that were judged earlier in the day and hear judge comments about the top participants. A Washington County Fair Style Revue will be held for the public at the Washington County Fair on Monday, July 17th at 3 PM in combination with the Share the Fun Event and Pride of Iowa at the Washington Community Center with 4-H members and Clover Kids participating together.

In the Intermediate $20 Challenge division, Marlee Greiner received a purple, Lauren Drahota received a lavender, and Halle Heisdorffer received a blue.  In the Intermediate Clothing Selection division, Marlee Greiner received a purple and Halle Heisdorffer received a lavender.

In the Junior $20 Challenge division, Morgan Bruty received a purple and Adlei Marek received a lavender. Receiving blues were Hayden Norman, Mycala Plank, Adrian Green, Emma Droll, Morgan McGlynn, Annabelle Septer, Lillian Campbell, Bria Ropp, Lauren McWhirter, Ruby Lowenberg, and Mereditch Campbell. In the Junior Clothing Selection division, Morgan Bruty received a purple, Hayden Norman received a lavender, and Mycala Plank received a red.
