Additional agreements have been approved by the Wellman City Council for the replacement of the 9th Avenue/Gingko Avenue Bridge that runs over Smith Creek.
The City will be working with engineering firm, Calhoun-Burns Associates, Inc. on the project, which is not anticipated to begin for another few years. The bridge replacement will cost an estimated $1.4 million to $1.5 million, with the city responsible for approximately $400,000.
The state will cover up to $1 million of the construction costs. While Calhoun-Burns Associates is responsible for the final plans and drawings of the bridge, the state has the right of final approval on both the design and engineering proposals.
