The Hillcrest Academy Raven softball team saw continued success on the diamond this summer and received accolades from the Southeast Iowa Superconference. In total four sophomores earned all-conference spots.
Delaney Shaw was a first team selection as a utility player. She led the Ravens and was sixth in the Superconference with a .431 average. Her OBP of .535 was fourth best in the league. Shaw had 25 hits, nine for extra bases with 21 runs scored, 17 driven in and 11 walks.
Malia Yoder was a second teamer at utility. Yoder hit .364 with a .533 OBP sixth in the Superconference. She ended the campaign with 20 hits, six for extra bases with 23 runs scored, 10 RBI and 16 walks, third in conference. Yoder handled the majority of the pitching duties for the Ravens, logging 102 innings in the circle with a 6.89ERA, and .242 opponent average on 148 hits, 101 earned runs 81 and 116 Ks with a 7-14 record.
Two Ravens scored honorable mention spots, Morgyn Nafziger and Erin Bontrager. Bontrager hit .327 with 16 total hits, 10 driven in, three runs scored and three walks. Nafziger was .314 at the plate with 16 hits, one double, 20 runs scored and 10 RBI with a conference best 19 walks.
Hillcrest finished 7-17 this season, their most wins since 2016.
