At approximately 11:00 am on Wednesday, there were reports the fertilizer barn at the back of Vision Ag across from Marr Park was on fire. The Ainsworth Fire Department, Washington Fire Department, Riverside Fire Department, Crawfordsville Fire Department, and Columbus Junction Fire Department all responded to the call. Utility companies, Environmental DNR, Washington County Emergency Management, and the railroad crew were all contacted. The fire was extinguished.
