On Sunday, the 2023 Louisa County Fair Queen and Princess Contest was held at the Columbus Community High School auditorium, with the winners announced that night at the Fairgrounds.

This year’s Louisa County Fair Queen is Jacie Hoeg. Hoeg will make appearances throughout the fair this week, as well as represent Louisa County at the Iowa State Fair Queen Contest in Des Moines. Additional honors went to Montana Boline as 1st Runner-up and Miss Personality. Brelynn Randall was named Overall Academic and Miss Leadership, while Madeleine Howell received the People’s Choice, Fair Spirit, and Academic Achievement awards.

The 2023 Louisa County Fair Junior Queen is Kennedy Rife. Rife also earned Miss Leadership and tied with Emma Salazar for Overall Academic. Salazar was named 1st Runner-up. Jakayla Nelson was awarded Academic Achievement, Miss Personality, and the Fair Spirit Award. Grace Keltner received the People’s Choice award.

Paisley Buckman earned the title of Louisa County Fair Princess, as well as the People’s Choice award. Harper Milder took home the Fair Spirit Award. Buckman also received the Overall Fundraising Award, followed by Milder and Katelyn Huston.

The fair continues this week at the Louisa County Fairgrounds in Columbus Junction.
