Last week, 28-year-old Timmy Broadnax of North Liberty turned himself into the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. In April of 2022, the Washington Police Department was dispatched to the 1400 block of North 3rd Avenue in reference to a female who had been struck by a vehicle. The victim told officers that 27-year-old Timmy Lee Broadnax, Jr. had intentionally run over her leg with his vehicle while she was trying to recover keys that he had stolen from her. Two witnesses also indicated that Broadnax was aware that he had run over the victim, and he was located in Kalona by a Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy. He was arrested and charged with domestic abuse assault, third or subsequent offense, a class D felony, and leaving the scene of a personal injury incident. Broadnax has a total of four Domestic Abuse Assault charges. Broadnax is being held without bond. KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
