The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is teaming up with T-Mobile in Fairfield to offer free child identification kits next week. From 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday, August 3, parents and guardians can take their kids to the T-Mobile store at 2103 W. Burlington Avenue to build their take-home kits.

Child identification kits are filled out by parents and guardians and utilized in the event that their child goes missing. Each kit includes fingerprints, medical information, and a DNA sample, which are then used by law enforcement to help locate the missing child. There is no cost to build a kit, and they are kept by the parent or guardian unless needed.

In addition, T-Mobile will be offering a free SyncUP kids watch with a waived activation fee, and guests can enter for a chance to win a bluetooth speaker. With questions, contact the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 641-472-3576.
