The Washington County Board of Supervisors discussed a Washington County Wind Energy Ordinance at their Tuesday meeting. Supervisor Marcus Fedler gives some further information, “One of the things that we talked about last week was the special assessment. One of the questions that was brought up was whether or not the State kind of made it a priority for counties to pass a special assessment or else it would be taxed at the state level. So, I guess that’s the question: do we need to set or should be set a public hearing so that we can pass an ordinance on the special assessment side?” The Supervisors scheduled the first Public Hearing for the Washington County Wind Energy Ordinance for 9:15 am on August 22nd during their regularly scheduled meeting.
