Our sixth biggest story in Mid-Prairie athletics from the last year highlights the Golden Hawk Shooting Club, in just their second season ever, they showed out at the state level.

At the varsity level, the Hawks had the top KCII area team finish at state with an 852, placing 146th of 213 competing teams. Leading individuals included Alexa Huber with a 188 to finish 275th out of more than 1,900 competitors. Other varsity Hawks included Quinn Callahan at 187, Milo Sieren 176, Payton Peck 170 and Paytin Swartzentruber 131.

In the junior varsity ranks, the Golden Hawk Shooting Club was 44th at state of 92 teams with an 828. Competitors included Landon Kuenster with a 182, Keatyn Myers 171, Tate Bombei 168, Maddie Sieren 159, Allie Whetstine 148, Dylan Humphrey 124 and Rylee Cady 88. The State Championships were held in Cedar Falls in June.
