To help provide equitable learning access and opportunities, US Cellular has donated 350 wireless hotspots and two years of service to a pair of eastern Iowa nonprofits. One such organization, Youth For Christ Southeast Iowa in Columbus Junction, was the recipient of 100 hotspots valued at $112,600.

Hotspots are stand-alone Wi-Fi networks that can connect several wireless devices at once, and have proven to be a vital tool for youth to access the internet, study, and complete homework. The donations are part of US Cellular’s After School Access Project, which aims to provide high-speed connectivity for youth.

Youth For Christ is a Christian movement with over 130 chapters across the country. Their mission is to work with young people between 11-19 years old who often feel overlooked, and build relationships with them at this pivotal time in their lives.
