Not only is the schedule changing in 2023 for Washington Demon football, but the stakes of many games have also been altered after Washington moved from District 5 to District 4 in the Class 3A assignments by the Iowa High School Athletic Association.

The Demons are followed from District 5 to District 4 by fellow Southeast Conference member Keokuk. Mount Pleasant and Fort Madison joining as well means that all but Fairfield and Burlington from the Southeast will be district opponents for Washington as well as conference opponents.

Mount Vernon and Davenport-Assumption round out District 4, which will be the first two opponents the Demons face in October. Despite no longer being in the same district, Washington will still face Grinnell in September. Everything gets rolling for the Demons on August 25th when Washington travels to Oskaloosa. You can hear Demon football all throughout the coming season on 106.1 FM KCII and streaming on KCIIradio.com.
