The City of Winfield is looking to fill three open seats for its City Council. All open seats are for a four-year term.

To hold office in the city, a candidate must be an eligible elector, meeting the same qualifications required to vote and be a resident in the city he or she plans to serve. Nomination papers can be picked up in the City Office beginning on Monday, August 28, and must be returned to the City Office by 5 p.m. on Thursday, September 21. Nomination papers are also available on the Secretary of State website. Candidates must obtain at least 10 eligible signatures, but are encouraged to get more in the event that any are challenged and subsequently thrown out.

The City of Winfield conducts business on the second Wednesday of each month at 5 p.m. Additional work sessions and special meetings will be scheduled as necessary. With questions, contact the City Office at 319-257-6661.
