The Grow Fairfield Economic Development Association announced earlier this month that it has acquired a 35-acre site, with plans to turn it into a new residential subdivision.

Located just west of the Jefferson County Health Center and adjacent to the recently established Cambridge Little Achievers Center, the site is expected to support 30-40 new housing units. The procurement comes after a study done in partnership with the City of Fairfield Housing Task Force, which saw a demand for a minimum of 220 new housing units in the next ten years.

Site and infrastructure development for the site, which is to be named the Sunrise Trail Subdivision, will begin this fall. Grow Fairfield is a public-private partnership, which in the last 45 years has committed to fostering sustainable economic growth, innovation, and community development in the greater Fairfield and Jefferson County area.
