The Lone Tree Lions are gearing up for the start of another volleyball season, with much of last year’s roster back in tow. Lone Tree won five matches last season and needs to replace five seniors. That includes all-conference hitter Riley Krueger, who led the Lions with 138 kills, 33 serving aces and 180 digs. Setter Ella Buser is also gone after a team-high 206 assists, as well as 42 kills, 22 aces and 108 digs.
Lone Tree will look to new leaders like junior hitters Rylee Shield and Cate Sexton, who combined for 50 kills, 25 aces and 36 blocks. Junior Avery Morarie also returns after posting 15 aces and 13 blocks for coaches Lora Sieverding and Sonda Prybil. The Lions will have their first match of the 2023 season tonight as part of the Keota Tournament.
