The Highland Huskies get to enjoy home cooking in their 2023 football season opener as they’ll welcome North Cedar to Riverside tonight. Highland is look to bounce back from a winless season last year and trying to end a skid of 12 losses in the last 13 games.

The Husky offense will lean on junior Sage Hartley-Norman, who led the team in both passing and rushing last season while accounting for 10 touchdowns. Senior running back Luke Guseman is also back, who will also be a big piece for the defense alongside senior Nic Oriano and junior Logan McFarland.

Highland faces a North Cedar team that won just one game in 2022, but the Knights do return starting quarterback Teagan Weber, who led the team in both passing and rushing. The Huskies fell 36-19 in the last matchup. Highland takes on North Cedar in Week One this evening starting at 7.
