U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley voted in late July to approve the National Defense Package while adding some provisions to the annual bill. One bill that the Senator attached was the Preventing Child Sex Abuse Act; here are his thoughts, “There’s things that young people have beyond their control because they’re young and innocent. And then you have people that want to take advantage of them. And this is a bill to protect those young people from the predators.” The Preventing Child Sex Abuse Act clarifies that crossing state or international boundaries with the “intent to engage” in illicit sexual conduct constitutes a sex tourism offense.
