At a ceremony on Sunday, August 20, Vicky and Duane Fisher of West Chester joined the next class to be inducted into the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame. The ceremony, which was held at the Iowa State Fair, included 127 inductees from 91 Iowa Counties.

The Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame is reserved for those who perform outstanding service in their communities and show a dedication to 4-H. Duane and Vicky Fisher have been an integral force behind the Washington County 4-H goat department. Since 2006, the Fishers grew the department from 16 to 118 head and even built the barn which houses them. Under Vicky’s leadership, the 4-H Pancake Breakfast has seen equal success.

Inductees or their surviving families were on hand to be announced on stage and receive a certificate from the Iowa 4-H Foundation. The Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame was established in 2002 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of 4-H. To view a complete list of Hall of Fame inductees by county, click here
