The Mid-Prairie volleyball team is set to clock in today for a business trip to the Central Lee Invitational in Donnellson. The Hawks enter ranked No. 11 in Class 3A in the first poll of the year, issued by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. Mid-Prairie opened the season Thursday, sweeping the rival Washington Demons at Tim Grady Gymnasium in Wellman. Mid-Prairie got by the Demons on the strength of 38 team kills, a .452 kill efficiency, 36 assists, 31 digs and eight blocks. Jovi Evans had 20 assists, Harper Pacha 11 kills, Dakota Mitchell 10 digs, Paige Safly four blocks and four aces for Katelyn Harland.
Joining Mid-Prairie today are Burlington, Centerville, Durant, Keokuk, Van Buren, West Burlington and the home Hawks. Action starts at 9a.m. And continues all day in Donnellson.
