The Mid-Prairie Community School District has seen great progress in a number of facilities projects this year, with some already completed.

To ensure the safety of its athletes, new lights were put up at the softball field this spring. More recently completed at Mid-Prairie is the track. Superintendent Brian Stone was pleased to have the track ready for the new school year. “We’re really excited about that, just getting that quality good finish out there, once again for our student athletes’ safety.”

Still underway are two major projects at East Elementary and the Middle School. This summer, work began on six new classrooms at East Elementary to be utilized for kindergarten, first grade, second grade, music, and Spanish. At the Middle School, six new classrooms are going up as well, including one for family and consumer science, STEM, fifth grade, seventh grade, and eighth grade. Both projects also add restrooms to the buildings.

Thanks to thoughtful planning, work on these projects will pose no interior conflict in either building during the school day, and are projected to be complete for the 2024-25 school year. To view current and future facilities projects in the Mid-Prairie Community School District, click here
