The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk volleyball team is ready for River Valley Conference play and begins that portion of their schedule tonight with a road match at West Branch. The Hawks come into the night at 7-1 after wins over Independence and Vinton-Shellsburg Tuesday. For the season, the Hawks have 223 assists, 231 kills, 266 digs, 34 blocks and 62 aces. Individual leaders include 130 assists for Jovi Evans, Harper Pacha with 71 kills, 100 digs for Dakota Mitchell, 13 aces for Katelyn Harland and 14 blocks for Callie Huber.

West Branch is 3-3 this year after dropping a pair of matches in a quad at Solon Tuesday to Clear Creek Amana and the home Lady Spartans in straight sets. Statistically, the Bears have 87 assists, 95 kills, 17 blocks, 100 digs and 22 aces on the year. Individually, they are led by 71 assists for Claire Jarrett, Emily Coleman’s 25 kills and six blocks, 20 digs for Madelyn Falcon, and Alyse Klinkkammer’s six aces. West Branch has won 18 of the last 21 in the series, but the Hawks took both matches last year in sweeps, stopping an 18 match, 14 year losing streak to the Bears. Action starts tonight at 7:15p.m. at West Branch High School.
