A new report from the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service released the values for non-irrigated cropland cash rent for the state of Iowa in 2023. These ranged from the lowest in the state, $163 per acre in Lucas County, to the highest, $329 per acre in Grundy County.

Cash rent values in the KCII listening area all fall near the middle of this range, led by Washington County at $266 per acre. It is followed by Iowa County at $265, Johnson County at $261, Jefferson County at $260, Henry County at $250, Louisa County at $243, and Keokuk County at $231. These all fall short of the state average of $269 per rented acre.
