The Washington Demons fell short in a road volleyball matchup at Mediapolis Thursday night. Washington came out of the gates strong and won the first set 25-17, but Mediapolis responded by claiming the second set 25-11. When the Bulldogs edged out the Demons 25-20 in the third frame, Washington gave their best effort to extend the match, but Mepo held on by winning the fourth and final set 25-19.

With the loss, Washington drops to 3-5 to start the season. The Demons are in action this weekend at a tournament in Anamosa and will return to the court next Tuesday when they host conference rival Fairfield.
