The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk cross country teams are back on the course for weekend action today when they travel to Pella for a meet on the Central College campus. The Golden Hawks were last on the course Monday at the Iowa City West Invitational. The Mid-Prairie girls finished third as a team, led by individual champion Danielle Hostetler with her time of 19:40, more than 16 seconds ahead of the rest of the field. Other runners for the Golden Hawk girls included Annika Poll 16th, Brooklyn Stutzman 18th, Greta Sieren 19th, Abby Fleming 20th, Phoebe Shetler 23rd, Rebekah Wallington 31st, Kali Miller 33rd and Dessa Poll 34th. The Mid-Prairie girls are ranked No. 1 as a team in Class 2A with Hostetler ranked No. 1 and Abby Fleming No. 11 individually.

The Golden Hawk boys were fifth of five teams with 98 points. Top finish for the Hawks was Emmett Swartzentruber in third with a time of 17:12. Other Golden Hawks included Jayse Yoder 15th, Preston Yutzy 18th, Max Swartzentruber 32nd, Daniel Rodgers 39th, Jacob Donaldson 41st, Thomas Flynn 43rd and Jesse Stultz 45th. The Golden Hawk boys are ranked No. 7 in Class 2A as a team with Swartzentruber No. 13 and Yutzy No. 25.

Joining the Hawks today are the No. 3 in Class 3A and No. 12 ADM girls and boys, Baxter, Bondurant-Farrar, the No. 18 in Class 1A Collins-Maxwell girls and their boys, Eddyville-Blakesburg, Lynnville-Sully, Mount Pleasant, the No. 13 in Class 3A North Polk boys and their girls, Oskaloosa, the No. 12 and No. 14 in Class 2A Pella Christian boys and girls, the top ranked in Class 3A Pella boys and girls, and the No. 11 in Class 3A boys of Winterset and their girls. There are a total of 16 ranked varsity runners in the field. Action continues all day Saturday on the campus of Central College in Pella.
